Window 20

from 2007 | North wall
“Towards new horizons”

The twentieth window in the cycle also dates from 2007. It is the third window on the right of the evening triptych. Compared to the left and middle windows of the evening triptych, the border has a different, more detailed and less symmetrical motif. Nevertheless, it is also reminiscent of the representation of planetary systems or atomic nuclei with their orbiting electron paths.

This window is also characterized by a large blue area, this time in royal blue, which extends almost across the entire height of the window. It is divided in half in the middle, creating a long, narrow path between the two halves. Is the artist extending the evening’s theme here to death, which could also be a passage to eternal life?

Countless small points of light can be seen on the two blue areas, each placed on a black crown. They can be interpreted as illuminated windows in a high-rise building, or as a representation of countless people who have already received the crown of life.

In this window, the artist broadens our view of the interstellar space and the micro-atomic. At a tiny point in this structure, a human being lights up and enters the house of eternity. This is reminiscent of the words of Jesus: “In my Father’s house are many mansions.”
